As we begin 2020 I encourage you to take time to meditate and memorize Scripture. They are life and light and encouragement and health.
Here are a few verses to get you started:
Psalm 46:10— “Be still and know that I am God” (NIV)
Psalm 1:1-3— “Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season.” (NLT)
2 Corinthians 5:17— “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come” (NASB)
Isaiah 43:18-19—“Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.” (NIV)
Romans 13:11-12 – “And do this, understanding the present time: The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.” (NIV)
Philippians 3:13-14—”Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (NIV)
Hebrews 10:24-25— “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (NIV)
Ecclesiastes 3:11— “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” (NIV)
