“Great is Thy faithfulness,” O God my Father, There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.
Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest, Sun, moon and stars in their courses above, Join with all nature in manifold witness To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth, Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide; Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!
“Great is Thy faithfulness!” “Great is Thy faithfulness!” Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed Thy hand hath provided— “Great is Thy faithfulness,” Lord, unto me!
On New Year’s Eve I looked back at 2018 and realized just how God had answered my prayers throughout the year. Some prayers were answered yes, some no—and to some He said, “Wait. Keep praying.. .not yet. But I hear your prayer and I will answer.” Some prayers were answered quickly and some were not. However, God was faithful to me all year long. I realized that the more I prayed, the more peace I received. I prayed, and the acknowledgement that I needed Him helped me to trust Him and lean on Him more. The more I prayed, the more I wanted to praise and worship Him.
January is the perfect time to reflect on the greatness of God and His great faithfulness to us. Take some time this month to reflect on His faithfulness to you last year—and you will be encouraged for the new year. Bring your requests, pleas, confessions, and praises to Him in prayer. Then look forward in anticipation of how He will show you His faithfulness, His love and His tender mercies for you in 2019.
Happy New Year!
